Build the tool that makes every glass checkable.

Who you'd work with
Meet the founder

Gibson Kemboi
Founder & Systems Engineer
I'm studying for a BSc in Electrical Engineering at Kenyatta University and work as a senior software engineer, building startups and technology products for teams around the world.
I started drinkYangu because fake alcohol is a problem Kenyans live with every day. A cheap, personal check in every drinker's pocket could complement the work that regulators like KEBS already do.
drinkYangu is currently a one-person effort. I'm looking for an electrochemist to join me, and for lab and industry partners.
How we work
Our values
Honest by default
We say what we know, what we don't, and what we're still testing.
Science first
Claims follow data. If an experiment fails, we write it down and learn from it.
Built for Kenya
We design for the bars, shops and homes where people actually drink.
Small team, big ownership
Everyone shapes the product, not just a slice of it.
Roles we'll need

These aren't open positions yet. They're the skills we'll hire for as we grow.
Electrochemist
Design electrode chemistry and voltammetry protocols that give stable, repeatable fingerprints.
Hardware & embedded engineer
Turn a benchtop potentiostat into a low-power, pen-sized device with Bluetooth.
Mobile developer
Build the companion app that pairs with the pen and explains results clearly.
